Open House
A reading.
We are a week from All Hallows’ Eve, when the veil between ours and other planes of existence is loosened. To hail this occasion, I present to you a reading of an original poem, accompanied by “Lux Aeterna” by György Ligeti (1966). This piece is quite clearly influenced by Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher, but unbeknownst to me, it also takes inspiration from the 1959 cult classic horror film The House on Haunted Hill, which I only watched last night, after I’d written this poem. Happy spooky season, dear readers. Now you are bade to enter.
